About the project
Vasu is a personal AI assistant that lives entirely inside your own Cloudflare account. It combines streaming chat, durable memory, tasks, notes, projects and scheduled reminders in one private app — with no server, database or account operated by a third party.
The assistant runs on a private Cloudflare Worker behind a Cloudflare Pages frontend. A SQLite-backed Durable Object stores conversations, memories, tasks, notes, projects, automations and settings; Workers AI handles streaming chat and tool calling; and Durable Object alarms run reminders and recurring routines even when the browser is closed. A single-command installer provisions the resources and protects the deployment with an owner password.
The interface is installable as a PWA and supports Web Push notifications. Tasks, notes, memories and reminders keep working if Workers AI is unavailable, and the whole stack is designed to fit Cloudflare's free-tier quotas. The live deployment is private — the screenshots show the signed-in experience.

The Challenge
Personal AI assistants usually depend on a vendor's servers: conversations, memories, tasks and reminders sit in someone else's database and are tied to a subscription. The goal was a genuinely private assistant that could remember context, manage personal information and run schedules without operating a server, renting a database or paying for always-on infrastructure.
Step 2
Our Solution
Vasu runs entirely on Cloudflare's serverless platform. A private Worker hosts a Durable Object that stores all structured data in SQLite — conversations, memories, tasks, notes, projects, automations, sessions and settings. A Cloudflare Pages frontend reaches it through a service binding, so the backend has no public URL. Workers AI provides streaming chat with tool calling; Durable Object alarms run reminders and recurring routines. Authentication, rate limiting, CSRF protection and single-user ownership are enforced in the Worker. The entire stack is provisioned and deployed with one command.
