About the project
NEET Prep is a full-stack EdTech platform designed for students preparing for India's National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The platform covers the complete NEET syllabus across Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology — featuring 80 chapters, 258 topics, 46 formula sheets, and 17+ curated mock tests including previous year papers (2023-2025).
Built as a monorepo with three apps:
Web App (apps/web): TanStack Start + React 19 + Tailwind CSS v4, with TanStack Router for type-safe routing, TanStack Query for server state, and Radix UI primitives. Runs in mock mode (zero backend) or connects to the live Cloudflare Workers API.
API (apps/api): Hono on Cloudflare Workers with D1 (SQLite) database, R2 for file storage, JWT auth (PBKDF2-SHA256, 100k iterations), and scheduled cron jobs for nightly progress rollups and auto-sync from Physics Wallah.
Mobile (mobile/): Capacitor wrapper for Android APK builds pointing at the deployed web app.

Step 1
The Challenge
NEET aspirants face fragmented resources: syllabus scattered across PDFs, video lectures locked behind multiple platforms, no unified progress tracking, and existing apps either lack depth (just MCQs) or are bloated/slow. Students needed a single, fast, mobile-first platform that covers the entire syllabus with structured learning paths, real exam simulation, and actionable analytics — all works offline-first.
Step 2
Our Solution
Built a unified learning OS for NEET prep:
- Structured Content Hierarchy — Subjects → Chapters → Topics → Videos/Resources/Questions, all seeded with the official 80-chapter NEET syllabus
- Mock-First Architecture — Frontend works 100% offline with in-browser mock DB (localStorage-persisted); switch to real API via 2 env vars
- Edge-Native Backend — Cloudflare Workers + D1 + R2 for global low-latency, generous free tier (5GB D1, 10GB R2), zero server management
- Adaptive Testing Engine — Server-side scoring, negative marking config, review mode with explanations, PYQ integration
- Analytics Pipeline — Nightly cron rollups compute per-student subject progress, quadrant metrics, and cohort benchmarks
- Multi-Provider Sync — Automated ingestion pipeline for Physics Wallah (extensible to others) with attachment handling
